The death of a child is a traumatic experience for the parents as well as the rest of the family. Some children unfortunately die as a result of terminal illnesses. When they are no longer responding to treatment and are nearing death, it is often better to provide them with love and support in their home environment. And organisation that provides support in such incidents is Angel without Wings.
Angels without wings is a registered Non-profit Organisation which offers assistance to families who have children with terminal illnesses and life altering conditions. The organisation strives to ensure that all children are treated with love and dignity and that they receive the needed medical treatment.
The organisation provides support to the children based on the Paediatric palliative care (PPC) methodology. The World Health Organisation states that PPC is the active total care of the child’s body, mind and spirit and also involves giving support to the family. It begins when illness is diagnosed and continues regardless of whether or not a child receives treatment directed at the disease. Health providers must evaluate and alleviate a child’s physical, psychological and social distress. It focuses on the enhancement of the quality of life.
Angels without wings provides the children with love and support when they need it most. Founded in 2010, the NPO was created in the name of Renee Maree.
All funding for the organisation comes from individuals and fundraising events.
