MTN has launched new data bundles that are designed for people who want to consume a set amount of data within a short period of time. The development comes amid tough a competition amongst other mobile network providers such as Vodacom, cell c and Telkom. MTN, whose footprint is spread across Africa, pegged its fortnightly data bundles at R79 for 1GB, while weekly data bundles range from R7 for 50MB to R59 for 1GB.
The new tariffs are part of MTN’s data bundles promotion was designed to run for six months starting from 2 March 2015. MTN has also adjusted its out-of-bundle rates to 99 cents per MB for prepaid customers, which includes the data base price for the PayPerSecond price plan.
