Every day, one in eight people in the world goes to bed hungry. Yet the world produces more than enough food for everybody.
Gift Vision Organisation is a Non-profit organisation representing and acting as volunteers on behalf of abused and abandoned orphans, women and children, senior citizens and people living with albinism in Africa.
We usually hear disturbing news related to the abuse of women and children almost on a daily basis. Statistics indicate that 25% of women in South African have been raped and just 2% of those raped by a partner report the incident to police. The scourge of HIV/AIDS has also left many children orphaned which has created a rollover effect resulting in a sharp increase in the number of child-headed households in various communities. This in turn results in further socio-economic factors which affect individuals differently.
With an increasing number of South African citizens living below the bread line, the cycle of poverty continues to breed further challenges.
Gift Vision organisation is driven towards giving poor community members ways of tackling poverty.
How can you help?
Gift Vision Organisation needs assistance in the form of provision of basic nutritional needs. Organisations providing food, clothing and transport can be helpful in this way, while other forms of assistance including food banks and clothing distribution centres can go a long way towards meeting these needs.
If you are able to help with school uniforms, stationery, clothing, medical supplies, furniture or blankets, don’t hesitate to contact Gift Vision here: 011342 5534.
The organisation has also extended its volunteering capacity to fight against drug and alcohol abuse as well as human trafficking.
