Getting your favorite band play in your community or area is always hard-hitting because music promoters normally select whoever they want. The good part is that there is a way out of this; Richard Theunissen, a co-founder of Inbound established a new crowd sourcing platform that gives music fans a voice by getting the artists they would like to see perform in South Africa.
The platform enables South Africans a voice about which acts they would like to see performing based on demand. South Africa just like many countries, normally rely on favorite artists to be invited to perform, fans don’t have a say in the matter regarding which artists promoters will bring.
What motivated the idea of Inbound Sound?
The idea was initiated when crowd sourced campaigns in the US town of Richmond, Virginia saw fans crowd sourcing funds required to get Foo Fighters to perform there.
Inbound Sounds enables a user to create artist or concert pages or rather join existing ones; the status of such nominations will enable Inbound Sound to work with promoters and brands to get the artists here.
With Inbound Sound, users can create free accounts or but adding their names require payment of a once-off registration fee; the fee is dedicated towards showing that the user wants to buy the concert ticket. The fee will be channeled to meet website costs and ensure its sustainability.
