One of South Africa’s renowned retail group, Mr Price whose retail house has expanded in countries such as Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi introduced a Lost card Protection Plan with the hope of protecting its clients against the fraudulent use of the Mr price money card up to R15 000.
Apart from the Lost Card Protection Plan, the retail store whose sales surpassed 5 billion in 2007, runs other financial services namely; 360 Protection Plan and A2B Commuter Personal Accident Plan.
Formerly called, John Orrs and Hub, Mr Price’s Lost Card Protection Plan allows clients to cover them against falsified use of their Mr Pricemoney card once it is reported lost. Clients are only charged a mere three rands for using this financial facility. R300 will be credited into the client’s Mr Pricemoney card to reinstate personal belongings such as a handbag, wallet or purse in the event they are lost or stolen together with the Mr Pricemoney card.
R250 will be paid directly into a client’s account to cover the cost of replacing a lost driver’s license and ID Book in the event the documents were lost at the same time with the Mr Pricemoney card. With a push of a button from a client’s cell phone, Mr Price’s mobile trauma alert will contact five of the client’s family members in the event that he is in an emergency situation.
For just R36 per month, the 360 Degree Protection Plan will provide a client with R10 000 cover in the event of retrenchment or death should he be diagnosed with certain critical illness and be hospitalized for 14 or more consecutive days.
Lastly, the A2B Commuter Personal Accident Plan awards R75 000 accidental injury cover, R50 000 accidental death cover with only R37 charged to a client’s account.
