Can’t believe how much I’ve enjoyed having the SAMSUNG Smart TV in my house. After a rocky start, I finally got right. Well, with the help of a dear friend, we figured it out. And so we begun the on the road down television lane.
Impromptu movie nights became the order of the evening. Friends came over; food was eaten and good music and blockbuster films were the norm. Since my friends exclaimed about the awesomeness of the TV, it’s been hard to NOT see them every weekend. To quote Nceba; “this TV has strengthened our friendship”, hahaha.
A beauty to look at, fast and a trend-setter Samsung’s SMART TV has set the standard of online TV. Bringing features such as the AllShare Play that allows users to upload and share multimedia content with compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, cameras, and computers. My Twitter bio reads: “recovering techno-phobe…” and in a way, I’m exactly that. So when I first received the TV I approached with much caution. First hurdle was connecting it to my home network; this took me a few days to figure out. Once I did, though, I realised that Smart TV hub was teh one to beat. A beautiful interface greets you upon entry into the hub. A Graphically intensive, icon-based interface is actually the TV’s default menu, and does a mostly excellent job of presenting you with lots of information without appearing over-cluttered. It works quickly and slickly, and gives more or less equal weight to both your ‘normal’ TV sources – like the tuner and AV inputs – and Samsung’s streamed content.
Samsung’s Smart Hub also makes it more likely that users will find and thus use more of the platform’s apps. Once you’ve added together its many video streaming services, music services and smaller, infotainment apps, it’s currently got the widest and most varied selection of content of any Smart TV platform.
I’ve always maintained that I don’t need a TV; and it was something I really believed in until I got my Smart TV. These days, it’s all I do. If I’m not catching up on my favourite series, I’m hosting a movie night, or blasting my favourite jams. Discovery the many things the TV can do has been both exciting and an eye-opener; an experience that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
The TV also supports connectivity with select wireless keyboards and mice, making it more convenient to access and navigate content.
