Online betting giant Betway have announced that the latest expansion of their brand involves offering their apps and website facilities to customers in South Africa. The move follows their first African license in Kenya that was granted in 2015 and looks set to take place early 2017.
Betway was founded in 2006 with the aim of creating high quality entertainment across a range of sports betting field. They combined state of the art technology to offer the best betting facilities for their customers and used software provider Microgaming to ensure the safety and security of their applications.
Currently, the company offers games around the world and have an outstanding customer support team that can work in 17 languages and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure anyone playing their games or using their websites can speak to a person. Betway currently offers five main products that will be available to customers in South Africa as with many other locations around the world. Betway has also become involved in several sponsorships and programmes around the world. NiP is based in Sweden and are famous for their Counter Strike: Global Offensive team. After a break from the game, the team reformed in 2012 with former player Emil Christiansen as the team manager.
The Betway sponsorship of the World Snooker’s UK Championship was renewed this year for another two year period. The company had previously sponsored the Triple Crown tournament starting in 2015 and in 2016 the event was held at the York Barbican and was won by Neil Robertson, with the final featuring a 147 break while playing Liang Wenbo.
On a smaller scale, Betway are involved with projects at grassroots levels such as the work with Ghana Premier League soccer club Ashanti Gold. Their sponsorship of the club shows the importance of the sport in the region and allowed the club to invest in their youth academy as well as upgrade facilities to be among the best in the region.
New to South Africa
Following their expansion into Kenya last year, Betway have announced that their new website will be going live into the New Year. The website will be found at betway.co.za and will offer the full range of sports books that are available elsewhere, alongside their high quality customer service system.
The company confirmed that their new app will use the same high standard of security as all of their other products, ensuring that players personal details will be protected while using the site. This includes top level encryption in line with what is used by online banking companies around the world.
