The Divas is an organisation owned by Heather Taylor-Waldron and Ziyanda Macingwane who have worked together for the past 8 years.
The twosome began as Wild Dog Production and Klatzko. The company has done projects for quite a number of companies and has assisted in the production of television commercials to clients such as Medscheme, Red Heart Rum, Lanco and King Pie. Apart from that, The Divas has done wildlife documentaries namely Time of the Elephants and Wild Dog Wilderness that were broadcasted by National Geographic Television.
The company then moved on to production management and co-ordinating television commercials for an assortment of production companies.
How The Divas came to be who they are?
Before establishing the organisation, the duo gained experience from different companies; they worked at The Sanlam Money Game – Heather as a Production Manager and Ziyanda as a Production Co-ordinator (Rapid Blue).
The duo also worked at Blue Moon where they headed up the video department producing many corporate and training videos for clients such as Edcon, Murray and Roberts, Discovery, Transnet and ACSA. They also produced elements for road shows and events, including SAMA 13, 14 and 15.
After discussing their dream of opening their own production company, with video as a core competency for 3 years, the twosome approached Blue Moon with their vision. Heather and Ziyanda established a good relationship Blue Moon for 5 years and this helped them to present their project to the Blue Moon directors without any problems. Blue Moon offered their support through a business enterprise development programme offering initial financial support and mentorship.
