Many consumers are still surprisingly reluctant to buy goods online using their credit cards. As users tend to focus on the risk involved in shopping online and this is surprising given merchants and banks are required to reimburse consumers when improper transactions have taken place and that credit cards offer fraud insurance.
Along with the strong security offered by the 3D-Secure standards from MasterCard and Visa, and now even Mastercard Securecode, which offers added protection to keep transactions private. MasterCard Securecode is a private code for your MasterCard account that gives you an additional layer of online shopping security.
