The fast paced world we live in today can be stressful well you can ease some of your stress by doing something good or selfless as that can actually make you feel happy about yourself.
An act of kindness also promotes the release of brain chemicals that are responsible for good mood and feelings of happiness and contentment.
So the next time someone demands something that you know is impossible to do, instead of nourishing that feeling of disgust, you can choose to donate to charity or do some other act of good instead.
This way, you are not only spreading kindness, but also helping yourself to relax a little bit.
It is in line with this train of thought that I’d like to remind you of Nelson Mandela Day, this month on the 18th. What act of kindness will you do that would make our countries late president proud.
Well here’s an idea in the modern day era we live in for most young ladies when it’s that time of the month it’s as easy as going to the shops to buy yourself sanitary pads, but imagine if you had no money or access to buy these necessities, well for a number of girls it’s not that hard to imagine as it’s their reality.
Dignity Dreams a non-profit organisation that started a campaign to distribute sanitary pads to girls who cannot afford them has set out on an ambitious goal, yet again, and this time it’s to raise funds to distribute 18 000 dignity dream packs as part of their Nelson Mandela Day campaign to young girls.
You too can support the campaign and help these girls reclaim the dignity that poverty has denied them by sponsoring a pack or packs of sanitary pads to a specific area in need, as every bit helps.
