The Neighbourgoods Market originally made its debut in Cape Town and since 2011 has given Jozi residents a true taste of the good life.
Held at 73 Juta Street Braamfontein, the venue has grown to become one of the most popular hang-out spots in the city. Every Saturday between 9am and 3pm the area is abuzz and bustling; as Joburgers from near and far, gather to mingle and sample some of the finest cuisine the city has to offer.
According to the website, “The market is as much a source for farm foods and specialty goods as it is a meeting point to enjoy community, swop ideas and stories and be inspired by the energy that makes Joburg.”
Market-goers are treated to an assortment of food – both local and exotic. Homemade dishes and food from various countries across the world provide market-goers with different options and delicious delicacies to explore and enjoy.
There are also decadent treats, refreshing drinks, organic food and fine art to enjoy. Various stalls include traders such as Fine and Raw Chocolate, Apple Tree Terrines, Pesto Princess, Lazanou Organic Vineyards among others.
Fashion lovers are also treated to an array of stalls, catering to different styles. Vintage clothing stalls are set-up within a contemporary setting.
The ambience of the Market is warm, relaxed and laid back. The bar on the rooftop is a favourite hangout spot, while the upper level provides brilliant views of Jozi. The rejuvenation of the Braamfontein area has given Jozi citizens even more reason to go out and experience market life.
