The South African Lottery began in 2000 and has since grown to become the most popular form of gambling in the country. In 2015, the licence was granted to Ithuba Holdings. Since taking over, Ithuba has introduced two new games, in the form of EAZIWIN and Powerball Plus.
You can play Powerball Plus by choosing a Quick Pick option where the Lottery processing system randomly chooses 6 lucky numbers for you.
Using a valid Powerball Betslip, using a pen or pencil, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 45 on and 1 extra number from 1 to 20.
Take your Betslip to a teller at an approved Lottery retailer to make your payment.
You will receive a receipt from the teller with all your chosen numbers.
Make sure that you write your name on the back of the receipt.
Look out for the next live Powerball draw on etv on Tuesday or Friday at 9pm to see if you have won. Results are also available via Facebook (South African National Lottery) or Twitter (@sa_Lottery.) Powerball Plus winners have up to 365 days to claim.
Tickets can be purchased at an existing Lottery outlet daily. Powerball Plus costs R7.50 per row and ticket sales close 30 minutes before the Draw.
What to keep in mind when you play Powerball Plus:
A jackpot will roll over for as many times as possible until it is won.
Prizes up to R2000 can be claimed at any retailers.
Prizes between R2000 and R50 000 can be claimed at a Post Office.
Prizes above R50 000 can be claimed at any Ithuba regional office.
Ithuba is intent on contributing positively and actively to socio-development through the ethical and efficient operation of the National Lottery. For this reason, balls are tested after every five draws to ensure accuracy and consistency with regard to weight, shape, texture, material and size.
The Ithuba National Lottery has since made 352 Lotto millionaires, 152 Lotto Plus millionaires and 93 Powerball millionaires.
