Art lovers can look forward to the FNB Joburg Art Fair that takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 11-13 September 2015. The annual Fair will showcase the best in contemporary African art and design, with 23 Galleries and 11 Special Projects. Since 2008 the FNB Joburg Art Fair has been delivering only the best, and this year will be no different.
Special features of the Fair include a series of special projects, a VIP Programme that hosts international curators and directors and a Talks Programme that invites art-world figures, philosophers, and critical theorists to deliver keynote lectures and participate in panel discussions. The 2015 Fair will also include the fifth edition of the FNB Art Prize.
The FNB Joburg Art Fair provides a space for leading artists, galleries, collectors, writers, thinkers and art lovers to congregate. It’s the perfect platform for local and international galleries, especially those with an interest or link to African Contemporary Art. The Fair becomes bigger and better every year with great initiatives and breath-taking exhibitions.
This year the Alfa Romeo Art Talks Program will feature local and international galleries and artists. Glass artist Martli Jansen van Rensburg has been commissioned by Grolsh to create a green glass installation that will be exhibited at the Fair for the first time. A special fabric created by St Leger & Viney and based on a design by artist Lawrence Lemaoana will be on sale at the Fair and will also be used in exclusive spaces at the Fair.
The Fair starts at 11:00 to 20:00 on 11 September, 10:00 to 19:00 on 12 September and 10:00 to 17:00 on 13 September.
